It was my New Year's Resolution to blog daily, and I really want to stick with it. However, during the week it gets really hard to blog at times, and I also struggle with feeling like I'm going to bore you!
I walk the line between blogging for myself, and blogging because I know there are some amazing people out there who tell me I inspire them and my words help push them to continue on in their journey.
When your readership on the blog grows, so do opportunities. I've had a lot of companies contact me about doing giveaways and testing their products to review on here. I don't want my blog to be a billboard, but I also do want to give you all opportunities if that's what you'd like.
So I'm asking you all to please let me know what you think! You can answer these direct questions, or just share your thoughts...
-Do you like my blogging daily, even if it's just to check in and say had a normal day, worked out, ate well, etc. (which does help me stay a bit more accountable)
-Do you prefer that I only blog when I have things to share or stories that might inspire?
-Do you like seeing photos of my meals?
-Do you think I should start hosting giveaways and/or share product reviews?
I think if I don't commit myself to blogging daily, it might just be on the weekends and maybe 2-3x per week.
And I do want to note that right now, I only share products that I find in my own personal life that I pay for. I am not at all endorsed by Oikos/Stonyfield Farms, for example, even though I dedicate my life to it...
So moving on...
Monday was good. Busy at work, spinning after work, had a great dinner. Char and Belle have gone 4 weeks without a pee accident in the house, so we're having the carpets cleaned tomorrow, and hope they'll stay clean for at least 6 months. So JJ and I were moving furniture all night to the few tiled areas in the house.
Tomorrow night I have Bite Club, it's at a Seafood Restaurant though, so I won't be eating much. And definitely not drinking.... so I'm not sure what my dinner will end up being. I might have to stop and grab something on the way home. I try to eat seafood, but I just can't do it. I don't like the taste or the texture, and I just picture fish swimming around in the ocean in my mind.. and it weirds me out! Some days... well, most days... I just know that I was destined for vegetarianism.
Have a great Tuesday!
Hey! I love seeing your blog daily and the photos of your meals, but I think you need to do what works for you. If you feel like its too much, cut back! And I love product reviews/giveaways. I do some on my blog and I think they're fun!
ReplyDeleteI love daily and don't mind if they are really just short "accountability" check ins - I think reading your quick recap makes me do my own.
ReplyDeleteHowever, don't let it all stress you - skip a day if it's too much - skip a few if you are feeling like it... it's your life.
I love your blog every day. It totally inspires me to see someone saily sticking with their goals :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a firm believer in making blogging something fun. If it's too much for you to blog daily, I think you could totally go back to 2-3 times/week. You don't want to eventually hate blogging! :)
ReplyDeleteI love reading it daily, but I understand how exhausting it can be! Maybe take a week off and think/talk about it. It might do you some good :) You could just try to do it 3x a week, and see how that goes. I love seeing pictures of your meals, it gives me so many ideas for my own. Do what works best for you, and don't over stress yourself!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the work and inspiration you have done.
Daily, even if it's just to log what you ate/did for exercise.
ReplyDeletePhotos are nice but not necessary if it/s going to make blogging feel like too much of a chore.
I'm not into them, but giveaways/reviews are easy enough to skip over. Wouldn't deter me from reading.
Ash, Ash, Ash... I've been following you fo-eva. A long time. I went back and looked up the couple of posts around new years when you decided to blog everyday... to see what your reason was for wanting to. I know you want to keep yourself accountable. I know you want to keep your readers happy. But, I suggest you try to remember what it was that made you think it was such an awesome idea to blog for 365 straight... if it still sounds cool, like its benefiting you, like its working with your lifestyle, then keep it up. If not. bail. It's your blog muffin. We are just along for the ride! :) Lovies.
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog everyday but like everyone is saying, if it's too hectic for you 2-3x's a week might be good. I like seeing the pics of your meals. I think giveaways would be great!!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a daily reader and enjoy even your shortest recaps. While I'd love to see you keep posting every day, it shouldn't be a chore for you! I say 4-5 times a week is enough to keep people interested and checking back and enough to give you a break :-)
ReplyDeleteI read your blog everyday! I like seeing it everyday even if it's just normal daily stuff!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading your posts, even if it's just everyday stuff. That's what we're all doing - just living our life - but (speaking honestly here), seeing your day-to-day stuff helps me! I like seeing how you cook, what you eat, how you make time to exercise, etc... Gives me ideas and motivation! :o) I can see how it would be hard to do every single day, but when you have time to fit it in, I definitely enjoy reading.
ReplyDeletere: giveaways, I won't come here more or less based on your givewaways. That's just me.
Thanks!
I struggle daily on coming up with something to blog because I feel like I am saying the same things over and over and over. BUT I love your daily blogs! I enjoy reading here! And if you add give aways it won't being me here more often. Even if I don't comment, I am reading.
ReplyDelete:)
I love reading your blog daily, but like others have said, you gotta do what works for you! Photos of food are good, but not necessary. Giveaways are also good, but not necessary :)
ReplyDeleteKeeping blogging! I love checking in with you everyday! :)
ReplyDeleteI love you blogging everyday, even if it's just checking in. I am trying to lose 50 pounds and reading your blog everyday is an inspiration for me.
ReplyDelete-Do you like my blogging daily, even if it's just to check in and say had a normal day, worked out, ate well, etc. (which does help me stay a bit more accountable)
Yes please!
-Do you prefer that I only blog when I have things to share or stories that might inspire?
No, please blog everyday (if you can)
-Do you like seeing photos of my meals?
Yes
-Do you think I should start hosting giveaways and/or share product reviews?
Hmm, maybe. If you want to
I think you should definitely do what YOU enjoy doing most! You don't want to get bored with your own blog! My favorite things to read about are which workouts work best for you and challenges! But you should make blogging a part of your life the way you want it to! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you blog daily and it never bores me! I look forward to it :)
ReplyDeleteI think giveaways and reviews are great! I love learning about new products that might help me out in my healthiness journey!
I love your blog mainly because you're not into the giveaways (which I dislike). I don't like reading commercials. However, it's your blog and you need to do/write what makes you happy. If that means posting less and adding giveaways, so be it.
ReplyDeleteHi Ash - I really look forward to your blog posts. I may not comment tons, but I always click on your blogs first in my reader. I really love the healthy foods you cook, and have become a dedicated Greek yogurt fan myself. That being said, as long as I hear from you a few times a week, I'm good. You need to figure out what works best for you. And for the record, you really are never boring!
ReplyDeleteI love the daily blogs, even if you're just checking in quickly. If you did 2-3x per week blogging, that would be enough for my ashisfit fix :)
ReplyDeleteI definitely wouldn't mind product reviews/giveaways either.
Thanks for being you, and as others have said, you're never boring!
Yours was one of the first blogs I ever came across and I have read ever since. I always enjoy what you write, even if it's just everyday normal stuff. But I think you should do what feels right for you. If it's too much for you to blog everyday maybe you can have some guest posts so that you are still meeting your goal of having a post every day.
ReplyDeleteI like that you recap your activities, but you don't have to do it everyday. I have totally fallen out of my routine in the last few months so I read your blog for motivation. I especially appreciate your honesty when you've had a "bad" day, but it makes you an everyday, real person.
ReplyDeleteI like reading often updates. I'm not the biggest fan of seeing every bite of food that someone puts into their mouth, but I enjoy the workouts/goals, etc. But ultimately if you aren't enjoying blogging every day, do it as often as you'd like. Do what makes you happy! :)
ReplyDeleteI like the everyday posts. It makes me think about my daily comings and goings. :) If you decided to only blog a few times a week, I would still read with glee!
ReplyDeleteI love reading your daily posts, but I also know what it feels like to not have much to say! I say keep up the good work if it fits into your schedule, if not, check in a few days a week!!!
ReplyDeleteI love reading about your everyday life! It makes me feel more normal since I don't feel I would have something really exciting to blog about everyday! Blogging is what you make it so I feel like if you follow your heart and are true to yourself, you'll find what you want to get out of this venture. We can all express our opinions but honestly, it's what makes sense for you right now. Thanks for sharing all you do and best of luck in whatever decision you make!
ReplyDeleteI like reading it every day but I also understand you not doing it every day. It's hard sometimes! I like photos of meals, product reviews and giveaways!
ReplyDeleteI personally enjoy your daily blogs, but if it is not something you can do due to time or just plain do not want to do all the time, that is fine too. Make yourself happy!
ReplyDeleteMelissa H
I enjoy reading your blog Ash. If it is becoming too much of a chore I would cut down to 2-3x's a week. If you wanted to do it everyday you could just do a check in that can be for you, but I think it will also inspire people like "If she is tired and exhausted but still workout I can too" (I have these days).
ReplyDeletePictures are great but I know how much time it takes sometimes to put the pictures in my blog and it seems to take forever sometimes.
simple steps to weight loss is often a numbers game. Around 3,500 calories can be found in a single pound of fat. If you are trying to lose a pound, you have to burn 3500 more calories than you eat. It's easy if you think of it in terms of 500 calorie chunks, so that every day you try to use about 500 more calories than you are taking in. You can lose one pound every week in this manner.
