Set Backs...

Sometimes in life, you can't plan things. This week my Grandpa passed away, and we had to make a trip to Virginia Beach for his funeral. Being an emotional eater, I hit the desserts hard... So when I got on the scale this morning, I was up 7 lbs. I'm sure a little is water weight and will come off quick, but I would imagine I gained 4 lbs. So now I have a bit of a setback...
The old Ash would have quit. But, the new Ash is going to get back up, put on my big girl jogging pants, and go run.
Yeah, it sucks that now I have to take off another 4 lbs, but what can you do?
Life will always have little set backs.
I just hope the shred and 3 mile run today isn't too hard... wish me luck, it's been a week since I exercised :)

  1. Sorry to hear about your loss. I am very proud of you for taking you set back w/ stride and getting back on your "program". I received my shred dvd and plan to start as soon as we get back from our honeymoon on October 4th. I have no doubt that you will lose this gain quickly. Have a great weekend.

  3. Sorry about your grandfather. When mine past away I hit the food hard and gained a lot of weight. Great that you are taking the 4 lbs. in stride and not give up! Just got my 30 DS and started it the other day. It's tough!

  4. Sorry about your loss. I'm sure the 4lbs will be lost soon with your determination.

I usually read your cooking blog and stumbled upon your sister site. I've struggled with weight issues for a long time. Although I don't struggle with weight so much now, I do struggle with constant insecurities (i.e. I think I'm a cow and clearly I am not). It's refreshing to read a blog that's so positive about weight loss. It's also great to see that the blogger is beautiful inside and out. Thanks.

  7. I'm sorry about your Grandfather. I think I read about that recently and may have even left a comment. I just wanted to say to hang in there. I know it's a difficult time and there will always be something going on. You're doing amazingly well, though. Keep up the excellent work!

  17. My mother passed away last December and food is where i turned once i went back to school and was on my own again.

I know my mom wouldn't have wanted me to put on weight just because i miss her so i am trying to channel my emotions in a different way. As one emotional eater to another, what works for you?
