And I'm ready to go!!!
Today has been fantastic. I feel wonderful, I'm excited (a little scared), but so ready!
I printed out all of the directions and information, got my bags ready with race essentials - cliff bar, bananas, G2, and gels. I packed lots of extra running stuff, added a few more songs to my ipod, got my camera, extra batteries....oh, I found out my bib will be #5050, sounds kind of lucky, right?!
If you really want to, you can track me here! You have to register to get email or text updates by 6pm on March 6.
I'm a little worried about the weather, it's on the cusp of long sleeve t-shirt and running tank weather. I'd rather be cold than hot though, so I'm going to go with a tank. I'm sure I'll be really cold before it starts, but I don't really have any other option besides wearing a shirt I don't mind leaving behind (which I might do...). It gets light here around 6:45, so we'll start in sort of dusk. Once the sun is up, I'll be ok!
Crissy texted me to say the parking at the Expo to get race #'s was crazy because of the Braves there for Spring Training, so I had a lightbulb go off, I checked the schedule and they're playing tomorrow at 1pm, so I surprised JJ and got us tickets to the game! The Braves are his favorite team, so he's really excited. I figured since he's doing this whole weekend just for me, he should get something enjoyable while we're there!
So the plan is to get in bed by 10:30 and get up at 5:30 (so I'm tired and want to go to bed early tomorrow), we're going to drop the dogs off (first night for the little one without us), and get to the expo at 11am. Then we'll go to the game, then check in to the hotel, grab some dinner, then I'm going to try to be asleep by 8:30-9pm because I have to be up at 3:30am on Sunday morning. Oh my!
JJ's ready to go with the camera, and really excited for me, so I'm sure I'll have lots to share with you. When I get home Sunday night, I'm making a mini-Thanksgiving type dinner since we'll have the visiting choir girls staying with us. Monday morning is going to be a killer!
Ok, I'm off to bed. I'll check my email once more before I go, if you have any last minute tips or advice, share please!

ReplyDeleteDefinitely bring a sweatshirt or something else warm that you don't mind leaving behind at the start. There is a lot of waiting around at Disney races. And they donate all the clothes that people drop.
