One too many bell peppers...

This morning when I woke up, I was so bloated. I think it was because of all of the bell peppers in last night's dinner, plus all of the raw fruit and vegetables I eat on a daily basis. For some reason though, it was awful today. I drank about 100 oz. of water from when I woke up to about 2pm, trying to flush out any excess salt or whatever it was. I was definitely a little dehydrated when I woke up. I've started feeling a little better, but I feel like my stomach is full of gas bubbles that just won't go anywhere. I know, totally TMI. If you're a clean eater with a diet heavy in produce, does this happen to you often?

Around 4pm, it was getting pretty painful, so I was on the fence about going to spinning. But I just decided I had to go, and if it got too painful, I'd leave. I felt great at spinning though, and pushed myself SO hard! I was so tired when I was finished, I definitely gave 110% today. I love to finish a workout and be so spent that I want to collapse. That's when I know I've really given it my all.

When I got home, I made the rest of the roasted tomatillo enchiladas, but forgot to photograph them again! I don't know what my deal is!
Tomorrow is Body Pump, which I'm looking forward to. My chest isn't sore anymore, and I'm ready to really get some strength training in.

  1. You know I've been noticing I've been getting a lot more bloated recently and was trying to figure out why but reading this post made me realize its probably because I've drastically increased the amount of fruits and veggies I eat... duh!

  2. Hum, I think I am seriously out of tune with my body. I never connect the dots. What I eat = how I feel. I'm gonna try to do that more this week. & awesome job on the bike. get'em girl!

  3. OK....so you get bloated from eating too much raw veggies because the body has a hard time digesting the bulk, leaving you gassy, bloated and generally feeling uncomfortable. The solutions to that is to lightly cook or steam your veggies daily. You can steam them just for a few minutes and make them a little more tender while keeping all the nutrients they contain while raw! Try it for a week or two and see if that doesn't help!

  4. PS - Ash, I'm not sure if you've heard of this place or if it's even close to you but there is a new place in FL called Health Food Hut and it's a new organic and all-natural fast food restaurant. you can go check it out at healthfoodhut.com!

  5. At least it stems from a good reason- too much healthy raw food ;) Could have once been from too much Taco Bell but you are at the opposite end of the food spectrum- so yeah.... I can feel the same with too much salad in one day ;)
BTW, I notice how GOOD I feel when I eat bananas...must be the potassium- didnt you say ur husband said something good about bananas+working out= better electrolytes? I wonder if it helps with leg cramps (ever get those sudden shooting calf pains in the middle of the night after a good workout?! OUCH!)

Great job on going to spin class- I did my 30 day shred DVD last night- how was your experiance with that- I saw that you did it, but do you think it was any good? I can feel my arms getting a work out which I enjoy :)

  7. I have those issues too, especially in the summer when all I seem to eat is produce. You're brave to spin. At least it was an awesome workout.

  8. I've been having this issue a lot lately. I'm not sure what it is though. My problem is that I've quit eating as healthy as I was and now the pain in my stomach occurs often. I honestly think I might be allergic to something or maybe it's because I eat too many sweets anymore. Regardless, I know that you are in pain. It is really no fun!

  9. I have problems with some salad bar lettuce now and then b/c they sometimes use a preservative that I react to... I would suggest watching if it's when you eat out v. when you eat the same veggies at home.

  10. I feel like that a lot and I never really understood because I eat a lot of veggies and fruits too! Is that a reason for it? Never thought of that..
