eek!

Holy cow! So many of you have left me such encouraging posts about the Half, saying I should do it.

I guess I made it seem like I was doubting myself or was kind of wishy-washy, and that's why I ultimately decided not to.
But in reality, after deciding not to do it months ago, things came up and I made other plans for the weekend
-JJ will be busy with baseball all weekend, so I have to be home for the dogs. I'd have to drive down Friday night since the race is easly Saturday morning and he'll be gone as well.
-Financially, I can't afford to get a hotel room, register, and the extra expsenses associated with the run because I didn't plan on it and set money aside in the budget.
-Though Chrissy invited me to crash with her, I'd like to have JJ or my family/friends there with me when I do this. I'd also like to make it a mini-vacation and spend the day at Epcot if I'm there.
-I am going to be catering a dessert bar for an engagement party on the 6th, and then attending the party, so on the 4th, 5th and 6th, I'm going to be really busy and I can't cancel this.

So if I were a single girl, or had family closeby and didn't have 3 dogs depending on me, I'd do it! It's just something I have to plan ahead for.
But I really do appreciate the encouragement and your confidence in me means so much :)

  1. totally understandable! I'll be sure to give you a recap of how it goes. I am more than doubting myself lately... I think there will be many walk breaks, but I am hoping that the energy around me will help the 13 miles whiz by!

  2. I was going to tell you that you should do it, too! But the Disney Half in January is a great race (I've done it twice) and you'll feel much better about doing a race that you've planned well in advance for and where JJ can come cheer you on.

  3. I think it would be great to have your family there to support you, so I think your decision is a wise one...you could always just train and do one on your normal running route....kinda to prove something to yourself that you can do it!

  4. I understand how you feel. As much as I'd love to cover the countryside entering races all over the place .. it's just not feasible for me. There's a huge cost involved and committment. Sure would be nice to have some family there ... that's one thing I rarely ever get.

BTW, I left you a bloggy award today. Thanks for being an inspiration!
