Ahh, Thursday night... I am so happy it's finally here! I'm really excited for this weekend, and this week has been so long and rough.
Some people have asked why I only post my meals on the weekends. Basically, during the week I eat the same thing (aside from dinner, at that's always on the food blog). In the morning, I have my oatmeal (this week is the chocolate covered strawberry, but most of the time it's pumpkin spice oats). Then for lunch, I have the same thing pretty much every day.
The yogurt flavor always changes, the fruit changes by season, and the vegetables and hummus (homemade) pretty much stay the same.... it depends a little on what's at the farmer's market. Usually though, it's carrots, tomatoes, cucumber and a bell pepper.
I eat my lunch at my desk while I read. Sometimes magazines, sometimes books.
Right now you can see I'm reading Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner. It's a good read!
So Lou and I had our plans to go run today. He suggested we go run the bridges downtown today, and I said sure! So after work we went downtown, parked at the Jacksonville Landing, and ran. We went over the blue bridge, then ran on the boardwalk by the river, then across the second bridge pictured, then turned around and re-ran both brides. It was a really challenging run, but we kept our pace pretty quick and I feel really good about having to run bridges during the River Run 15! There were a lot of people running downtown, and we even ran into one of Lou's friends who is doing the run.
After the run, on my way home, I stopped at Starbucks to grab a gift card for someone. I decided to grab an iced grande soy latte. It was so delicious. I'm so tired though, clearly the caffeine had no effect on me! For dinner I made a big salad with random veggies and cottage cheese and then I had some parmesan orzo with broccoli. I tried to keep it light since tomorrow is a weigh-in, and because I was eating so late.
I'm so excited, a new episode of The Office is on at 9, then I'm going to read in bed with a big mug of tea and the TENS unit. I hope I'm not sore tomorrow with all the hills/bridges, but I'm feeling good, so I think I'll be ok. As of now, the plans stand to run 9 miles on Saturday morning. I'm just trying to figure out what route I want to take.... hmmmm....
Hope you have a GREAT Friday!
Nice job on the bridges and good luck with your 9 miles. Note that mapmyrun.com is an excellent tool for planning running routes.
ReplyDeleteHomemade Hummus. Yum. Any chance you could post the recipe? I tried to make my own once and it was a total failure...
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! Sounds like you had a good run, hope Saturday pans out for you!
ReplyDeleteHi, I was just wondering how many calories do you get per day, since your lunch is so light? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy lunch is around 475-500 calories, which I don't really think is too light, about 1/3 of my daily calories. Right now I'm trying to stick to 1600-ish per day, aiming to lose a pound a week. My BMR is 1850, so when not in maintenance, I would eat closer to that.
ReplyDeleteI love Jennifer Weiner!!! "Good in bed" - that was the first book I read by her and so so so funny - if you ahven't read it yet, I HIGHLY reccomend it :)
ReplyDeleteGood run! It was finally mild enough yesterday for me to run - it was awesome :)
You are so inspirational to me. I really want to take my 5k training outside, but it is too snowy and cold for me. In another month or 2 hopefully I'll be able to get outside. I have moved from the treadmill to the indoor track so that has helped some. I haven't worked out in 2 days, but today is personal trainer day. YEAH!!!! Have a great weekend. Hope your dinner party goes well!
ReplyDeleteI love Jen Weiner and have read Best Friends Forever. I tried Chobani yogurt today for the first time and now I know why you love it!!
ReplyDeleteYour lunch looks delicious! I may copy it.
ReplyDeleteEveryone who reads your blog is probably just as amazed as I am when I hear how well your weight loss is going! I just was wondering how you made it a routine? Did you cook pre-weight loss?
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the the bridges! Do you ever get tired of eating the same lunch?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the 9 mile run! You will do great. Thanks for posting your lunch plan too. I always struggle with what to bring to work for lunch.
ReplyDeleteI really need to run the bridges! I can't do it next weekend cause I'm running the Donna Marathon relay, but I think I'll do it the next weekend. Wanna join me?
ReplyDeleteCan you post that yummy hummus recipe...I love hummus!!
