Day 34: Decisions, Decisions...and great choices!

Today started out like any normal day...until 8:01am when I realized I forgot my running clothes! So that meant that I could not go running after work. Boo! But then I got an email from a friend who said I could come over and try on some of her dresses for the gala on Friday. So it kind of turned out to be ok!
Right before I left work, Lou asked me if I wanted to go with some of his friends to La Nopalera, a Mexican restaurant, for dinner tonight because one of his college buddies is in town. So since JJ was gone with baseball and I'd be spending the night alone, I figured why not!

So after work I went to Courtney's and tried on 2 of her dresses. At first, I was dead set on wearing the first one... but then when I got home I tried the second one on again, and fell in love with it...

I think I'm leaning towards the second because it's a little more fun and party-like. Also, I'm afraid my boobs might pop out of the first one... haha. The cut is gorgeous though, but since it's so fitted through the body, it might be hard to dance in.... but it's just so darn pretty!
So what do you think?! I can't decide!

So after I tried on the dresses, I came home to feed and play with my dogs, then I ran to the library and got 3 new novels and a cookbook. I haven't been to the library in a while, it's closed on Sunday here which totally bums me out. That's my usual library day!

So after the library I drove over to the restaurant. I did what I always do when I go out to eat, look at the menu online so I can plan ahead! I knew going in I was going to order the vegetarian #5 - a spinach quesadilla with beans and rice. I figured I'd eat most of the rice and beans, the filling in the quesadilla, and a few chips and a light beer. That's exactly what I did, and I'm really proud of myself. It's so easy to eat and eat and eat at Mexican restaurants when they keep refilling the chips... but I counted 10 chips and then stopped. Small victories, people. That's what it's all about!

So unfortunately no workout today, but we are going to run tomorrow, and I just put my gym bag in the car so I don't forget!
I'm so ready for the weekend...

  1. Both of those dresses are gorgeous! And you absolutely fantastic in each of them.

I never thought about counting the chips at the Mexican restaurant. It's an awesome idea to not eat too many, thanks!

  3. Eek, at first I was all for the black and white dress, but the gold one is much prettier when you click on it than in the smaller image...I guess I would go with comfort if you like how they both look!

  4. I vote for the second one - it's much more appropriate. No offense, but the first one is a little dated looking.

  6. i love the 1st 1 because the pattern is very flattering on your figure. but i agree with you - i think i'd feel a lil self conscious about falling out and/or people staring (inadvertantly) at my chest all night. the 2nd one is beautiful.

  11. #2 cause its MARDI GRAS!

And for real, La Nop is the shiz. Their tostadas rank really high on my "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" list.

  12. The dresses are gorg! How do you have so much restraint at a Mexican restaurant? Once I eat one chip I usually can't stop:(

  13. I really like the 1st dress. I think that the 2nd one is a little pale. I understand about the boob popping out, just get some of the double sided tape. You can get it at Walmart. Then there are no worries.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mexican food. We went last Friday. I ate have of my steak fajita burrito and chips & salsa and a diet coke. I could eat Mexican everyday and not get tired of it. As a matter of fact I made enchilada pie the other night and I am still eating the leftovers. Did I mention that I LOVE Mexican food.

  15. I love dress #2. I think it goes very well with your skintone. I think dress #1 kind of resembles a wedding gown.

Yeay for having self restraint at a mexican restaurant! They're the hardest because all the food is so friggen good!!!

props to you for the willpower :)

I totally wish I could move to Florida.... that would be sweet. I would be able to run any day I wanted! and I'd have a running buddy :)

  19. Omg- #1 fits your body perfectly and your boobs dont look like they'll be popping out, lol. I vote 1!

  20. They're both gorgeous dressed. #1 was my immediate favourite. I LOVE the style and I don't think your boobs look like they'll pop out. At first I didn't like #2 at all, but after I clicked on it, it actually looks pretty good. It's definitely more mature looking.

  21. I like the first one, I think the second one looks like it comes down too low at the top.... But you look great in either one.

  24. I think that the black and white dress is way more youthful. The second one is pretty too but I think the first one is more fun!
